Card from about 1908 is entitled Phillipine Islands, Jackson, Kentucky, Toughest Spot On Earth. It's hard to tell where this spot was. However, I guess it to be on Main Street near where the Breathitt County Extension office is now located. I have never been able to find anyone who ever heard of this spot in Jackson. It was probably named by local veterans of the Spanish-American War.
