Robinson Is Seriously Injured In Monday Night Auto Accident

Bill Robinson, owner of Robinson Service Station on Quicksand Road, is reported in a serious condition at the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington, suffering from injuries received Monday night, when the car which he was driving overturned on Highway 15 at the mouth of Panbowl Creek.

According to Misses Norma and Ramona Williams, who were riding in a car directly following young Robinson, the accident occurred when a tire blew out on the Robinson car. The Cadillac sedan swerved violently across the road several times, they said, as he fought to keep control, finally plunging through guardrails and overturning on the embankment.

Robinson was pinned beneath his car until passengers from a passing bus lifted the car enough to allow him to be dragged from under the vehicle. He was returning from Louisville, where he had gone for medical examinations at the Veterans Hospital there.

He was brought to the office of a local physician and then taken by ambulance to Lexington. Members of his family were unavailable for information today, but it is reported that the seriousness of his injuries would not be determined pending further examinations.

Miss Norma Williams, driving a Chevrolet coupe following the Robinson car, stated that, in the excitement of the moment, she ran her car into the bank on the opposite side of the highway from the wrecked auto.

The Cadillac was badly damaged, but the Chevrolet suffered only minor damage.
