A group of lumber workers sit near Dr. Hoge's office
and near the Quicksand depot. By 1912 a spur from the L&N had been extended
into the village of Quicksand where it picked up lumber cut by the many
mills in the town. It was near here that the narrow gauged dinky trains
met the regular gauged trains. Note the motorcycle and side compartment.
About 1922. Today, there are no traces of these buildings, except the house
at back. It still stands.
