Note the wooden buildings beyond the Court House. They are gone today. On the left side of the street are the Hargis Brothers Mammoth Department Store and beyond it is the Day Brothers Dept. Store. (The Hargis Brothers Store was destroyed by fire in the 1920s and was rebuilt. Today the building houses Citizens Bank.)
