Madison T. Back, the Breathitt County Court Clerk at the time (about 1925), is shown at left, with Judge G. Watkins, at right. (Watkins, whose name was Judge, died in 1927 was the father of Lillian Callihan of Jackson.) That's the Breathitt Lodge building on Court Street which may be seen out the window. Not very clear is the large calendar on the wall. It is from the Hargis Commerical Bank of Jackson, a bank which went broke during the Great Depression.
