The biggest company to establish a mill at Quicksand was Mowbray-Robinson Lumber Company. They had several narrow-gauged steam engines used to pull trains loaded with timber cut in the Quicksand and South Fork Creek areas of Breathitt, Perry, Magoffin, and Knott Counties. Here is one of the largest engines with its crew taken about 1917 in Quicksand. Note the number of tracks. Sorry I don't know any of the men's faces.
