Last Rites For James Noble;
Three Days
James Noble, 64, died in Good Samaritan Hospital,
Lexington, Sunday night, May 18, after a short illness.
On the previous Thursday evening he suffered
a heart attack on Highway 15 in the eastern edge of town. He
was treated by a local doctor and taken to Homeplace Hospital,
being removed to the Lexington hospital on Saturday night.
Mr. Noble had been an employee of the Robinson
Substation for about 20 years. During that time, he had been
stationed in the 15,000-acre Robinson Forest in Breathitt, Perry,
and Knott counties. He had been a teacher and lumberman, before
entering the forestry service. He was a veteran of World War
I.
Mr. Noble was an outstanding citizen, who
enjoyed the friendship of a host of people.
Funeral services were conducted at the Tincher
Cemetery at Portsmouth by rev. Sam McIntosh at 1:00 p.m., May
21.
Survivors are his widow, Mrs. Wlpha Noble;
seven children, Milton, Ray, Nell, Olive, Robert, Herman, and
Mae.
Ray & Blake, Jackson undertakers, were
in charge of funeral and burial arrangements.
