Breathitt County War Writes a Card

Jason Little, the wife-murderer of Breathitt County, over whose deed it is said the quarrel arose which has created a war in Breathitt County, and who is now in the Richmond jail, sent for our correspondent at that place Tuesday, and gave him the following for publication in The Transcript:

"A circumstance taken place in Breathitt, October 18, 1878 bye Jason Little who was about 27 ir 28 years old who was a kuze a killin his wife A purpos but it was Don Axedently but by th a bing A little trouble with me some time ago. wife muther an brethron and sistern tel me not to tel what was the matter with my wife, and i remarked to them then i wud Dye than to tel that an they tried to git me to leve the coentry, i told them i wud dye first, for you All now that it was an axcidently. And ant afriad but yeu no i tol you we had Better tel the truth at the start and the sez yes i wish we had but then you neednt by afrade for we will tel the truth about it any how and so you needen to be afrade and i remarked to them i ante afrade fir I wood Druther be Ded an buirde with wife i luv, and then I mistrusted tha waz going to git me in to truble but i sed to mi self i wud druther dye than to leve my wife i love so good. I wud druther give up ten thousand wurlds than to give up a wife. A god noze it but wife mother and sister is not t blame but Jo Cammen was the cauze of it. Mr. J. W. Linden told Mr. Corner if he wude tel it was don a purpos he wud give him half of what the cud make, an so that's how cum me in this trouble. My frendz tole me time an again that if i didn't think tha wud. This was all dun thru predadiz, and so i want their names printed. J. W. Linden, Jo Cemmin. And so there seems to be a grate excitement over Mr. Little, but it is a grate mistake, but it is a nuff to make a grate excitment the way tha reported it, but ut is not over Mr. Little. it is over this elecshun and olde grudges, an nothing els, fir tha haf bin tryin to kill one a nother ever since before the electshion an so this is the truth if i hav to dye as ni as i can tel it at present but az i can think of any thing i will give it to you an so i will come to a cloze by saying Gode noze i haf tol the truth an so J. W. Linden is the cauz of all of this trubel."
