View of the North Fork of the Kentucky River as it began its loop around the famous Panbowl in 1908. The dam for the Panhandle Mill may be seen. Note the large sandbars along the river. They are gone today as are most of the buildings seen. Today this section of North Jackson is called the "frog pond" by some old-timers. Today the panhandle is gone, a large road goes through the area shown in the left part of this photo.
