Note - The death of Judge Burnett in Jackson
during Nov. of 1878 brought the attention of the state and nation
to Breathitt County for the second time in less than five years.
State guards were sent to Jackson (as they had been in 1873-74)
and many larger newspapers sent reporters too. There are hundreds
of old articles detailing that feud. From time to time we will
add some.
