Nearly 60 people lost their lives in the sudden cloud burst flood which happened during the night of July 4, 1939 in Breathitt County, Kentucky. Here men are shown carrying the body of a young man found in a house near Blanton Bridge where he was trapped by the rushing waters. He was among the last found.
