Men Who Died In World War II - To Be Honored - a newsclipping from about 1950.

Names of 87 County Men Killed In War To Be On UK Roster

The names of more than 9,000 Kentuckians known to have died in World War II will be placed on a large roster in the University of Kentucky's new Memorial Auditorium-Fieldhouse when it is completed, according to President H. L. Donovan.

Ezra L. Gillis, director of the University's War Memorial Survey, reports that his office now has the names of 9,411 Kentucky men and women who gave their lives, including 87 from Breathitt County. Additions to the list and corrections in names and addresses should be sent to the War Memorial Survey, University of Kentucky at Lexington, in order that the roll of honor may be accurate.
