Breathitt County's first motor-driven ambulance/hearse is shown in this July, 1920 photograph of a funeral at the Jackson Methodist Church, then a new building. Streets were unpaved. Scene was taken during the funeral of Govan Smith, the father of the late Elisha Smith. Note that no other buildings are near the new church.
