A one-room school on the South Fork of Quicksand. That's James Clell Neace at left. This was his first year of teaching. Today, Mr. Neace writes monthly for The Kentucky Explorer magazine. The small school shown was actually a make-shift building which was used after a fire destoyed a much larger building. The kids are playing an old game. It looks like Ring Around the Roses, but could be something else. Miss Wolcott took several photos at this location.
