Located on a steep hillside near the present-day community of Whick is the final resting place of Captain William Strong, the noted Breathitt County feud character. His grave is marked with a military stone from the Civil War era. This photo was taken by the editor on June 30, 1969 when the grave was lost in a dense growth of underbrush. Later the area was cleared and trailers were placed near the location.
