A rare view of Jackson taken from South Jackson about 1895. That's the Presbyterian Church near the center (across the river). At left may be seen a log cabin which was located about where today's bridge ends in South Jackson. (There was no bridge at this time--not until 1899.) Also note a tall smoke stack which was once located about where Chapman Dept. building sits. A trailer park now sits in the large open field in South Jackson.
