Jackson High School Photos

Through The Years

Jackson City School was established many years ago. However, in 1911 a school was built on Marcum Heights and officially called Jackson City School. The new school opened in 1912. Later in 1928 a second building, which today houses Jackson High School, was built beside the older building. Mr. H.H. Harris was the first principal. Teachers in 1912 included: Evelyn Johnson, Robert Talent, Lucy Thompson, Eulah Mae, and Joe Brophy. In 1965 the old Jackson Elementary School building burned and was replaced by the present Spencer Building. We will be adding photos here from time to time dealing with JHS. (Others are scattered here and there in this website.)
