In memory of ADAM HAYS,
who departed this life on March 20, 1953. We, the members of
the Lewis Fork United Baptist Church, wish to extend to the bereaved
family and loved ones our heartfelt sympathy, commending them
to the loving Father above, who is too wise to err. Our loss
of this beloved brother and the deacon of our church is deeply
felt, whose presence in our church was always an inspiration
and whose life will be a guiding light to us left behind, and
that in his death our church has lost a faithful and esteemed
member, one whose advice and counsel was ever for the good of
the church.
He was the son of James and Matilda McDaniel
Hays. He had one sister, Mrs. J. W. Duke of Hindman, Kentucky,
who preceded him in death July 1952. He is survived by one brother,
Lewis Hays, Sr., of Jackson and Noble, Kentucky, who is the only
one of his immediate family living.
Brother Adam married Adna Allen, daughter
of A. A. "Smokey" Allen. To this union were born 14
children, four of whom precedeed Brother Hays. He has nine children
living, 32 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
We feel our loss too great for words to express,
but we know God does all things well.
