Whick Baseball Team of 1929. Martha

this photo. Like many small Kentucky communities of long ago,
Whick, located along the North Fork of the Kentucky River in
southern Breathitt County, once had a baseball team. In this
rare scene are (standing left to right): Danie White (Martha's
father), Pearl ("Fox") White, Patten Deaton, Hacker
Deaton, and Tom White. Sitting left to right: ____ Thompson,
unknown, ____ Thompson, and Farrish Strong. The three White men
are brothers, and the two Deaton men are brothers. |
